BC7275B 48-Segment 6¾ Digits LED Display Driver
The BC7275BEC is a single-chip 7-segment LED display driver capable of driving up to 6¾ digits or 48 independent LEDs without requiring any external components.
Key Capabilities:
Built-in Decoding: Supports hexadecimal decoding. Writing a value automatically displays the corresponding glyph, eliminating the need for manual lookup tables.
Independent Decimal Points: Decoding does not affect decimal points. Unused decimal points can be directly controlled as independent indicator lights without requiring special programming considerations.
Advanced LED Control: All LEDs can be controlled individually. The chip supports blinking per-digit or for any individual LED. The blinking function requires only a single command and operates without CPU intervention.
Operating Modes: The chip supports two operating modes: With Chip Select (CS) and Without Chip Select.
No-CS Mode: Drives 6 standard digits. Special commands allow decimal point segments to function as extra digits, achieving up to 6¾ digits.
CS Mode: Drives up to 5 digits. Allows multiple BC7275B chips to be mounted on the same SPI bus.
Software Support: A BC727X Driver Library is provided. Users can implement basic display functions—including Decimal, Hexadecimal, and Floating Point display—with just 2–3 lines of code. Library Usage Steps:
#includethe driver library header file.Provide SPI interface functions (Hardware SPI or Software Bit-banging).
Call library functions to update the display.

BC7275B Demonstration Board
Features: Includes the BC7275B chip and a 7-digit LED display.
Modes: Jumpers allow selection between:
5-digit mode (with CS)
6-digit mode (without CS)
6¾-digit mode (with extended display bits)
Application: When a custom circuit fails to function, it is often difficult to distinguish between hardware and software issues. Using this demonstration board to debug user software helps eliminate potential hardware failures as the cause.
